Key West Trip

imageI didn’t post daily on this trip. It was a pretty short trip and my computer was very flaky and would not stay running long. So I just saved all my pictures and posted everything in one big post instead.

I managed to get the bike put back together a few days before we left and put 150 miles on it so I figured it was as good as new and went for it. The trip was 2350 miles total. We spent 5 days on the road. It should have been 4 days but we stopped a few hours from home due to the weather and not actually being in that much of a hurry.

DR650 3rd Gear Broke on Me :(

I guess everything breaks sometime or another. At 21,000 miles on my bike 3rd gear decided to break in half. Here are pictures of what happened.

How to Move the Passenger Seat Brackets Back in an Astro

Every Astro made has the passenger seat adjustment way to far forward. I have no idea why the factory thought only little kids were going to ride in that seat so I had to make a set of brackets to move it back some.

Dual Battery Setup on an Astro

One of the biggest problems I have had with my Astro conversion van is running the battery down from watching TV ,playing games, or other random messing around in the van. The best solution was to add a second battery to handle the load while the van is off. I wanted an automatic solution that didn’t require me to remember to flip switches or mess with it in any way.
