The faster I went the worse the mileage. down to 38mpg going 70mph with a 20-30mph headwind. I have a <a href="http://rthompson.us/2008/08/19/scottoiler-touring-kit-install-on-a-dr650/" rel="nofollow">Scottoiler on the bike</a> using chainsaw bar oil for the lube. It is the longest lasting oil I have seen for a bike chain. I swapped chains at 5,000 miles on the bike and am still using that chain at 20,000 on the bike with very little wear on it, I swapped so I could go to a 16 tooth sprocket.
