How To Get Bluetooth Working Under Windows XP SP2
XP SP2 comes with a limited Bluetooth stack that is good enough to use for a few things, but it cannot use many services that are available with common devices like a Bluetooth headset. The Widcomm drivers are able to use all the services available to your computer, so you can use your Bluetooth headset when talking on skype or any other voice chat program available. It also lets you transfer files to and from your cell phone directly without having to pay the exorbitant fees the cellular providers charge.
get the widcomm drivers from here:

notes from this driver:
-5.1.0.1100 is currently the last version that allows Cambridge Silicon Radio bluetooth hardware to work (5.1.0.1700 and 5.1.0.2100 versions do NOT work. 2100 was released September 20th 2006)
-To see if you have CSR hardware, check your bluetooth hardware configuration or diagnostics tab in your Bluetooth panel
-These drivers contain an inf file that should have your Bluetooth hardware id listed, even generic ones. If it doesn’t, you will have to Google to find out how to add your id to the BTWUSB.INF file.
How to install the drivers:
- Go into the add remove programs and remove any Bluetooth software you have installed.
- Look in the device manager and remove any Bluetooth devices listed.
- Rename the file C:\windows\INF\bth.inf to something like c:\windows\INF\bth.inf.old
- Reboot the computer
- Install the drivers from the file listed above. If it complains about no hardware found, hit cancel and it will continue installing.
- Run the license patcher; you can do this before or after rebooting from installing the drivers.
- Make sure you have rebooted after installing the drivers then plug in your bluetooth usb dongle.
- Have fun with your functional bluetooth! — you might have to do one more reboot to get everything working properly :/
